⚠️ Double Signing: A Serious Offense

Double signing occurs when a validator signs two conflicting blocks at the same block height. This is considered the most severe violation in the network.

Consequences of Double Signing:

  • 🚫 Permanent loss of validator reputation — trust from the community is severely damaged

  • 💸 Loss of stake — both the validator’s and their delegators’ coins are slashed as a penalty

  • ⚠️ Community distrust — undermines confidence in the validator and the network’s security

Double signing is treated very seriously to protect the network’s integrity and maintain trust in its validators.
